ジャクソン・ポロック(1912年1月28日 – 1956年8月11日)は20世紀のアメリカを代表する「抽象表現主義」の画家である。アクション・ペインティングという表現を打ち出し、それまで「具象絵画」が中心だった美術界に大きな影響を与え、ニューヨークを芸術の中心になるきっかけを作る。ジャクソン・ポロックの作品は世界中のメジャーな美術館に所蔵され、国内では国立西洋美術館、原美術館、大原美術館、北九州市立美術館などで作品を見ることができる。

Jackson Pollock (January 28, 1912 – August 11, 1956) was a leader of the 20th century Abstract Expressionist movement. His technique of all-over "action painting" revolutionized modern art internationally, and helped establish New York as the center of artistic innovation. His work is in major museum collections worldwide, including the National Museum of Western Art and the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo; the Ohara Museum of Art, Kurashiki; and the Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art.
